CRAWLING METAL
Studio 2B named, “As Found- Poetics of the Generic” headed by Stephen Marshall, was a site focused studio in which we were given various precedents in the Burbank area to create a formal case study. With the information of structure and understanding the core elements of these precedents, we then were introduced to two other kinds of case studies, and were given the challenge to incorporate all ideas to reinvent the concept of our starting case study.

Manipulation of the roof was key, as the more exploration the changes in ridges had, the more possibilities the rooms created. These diagrams represent the variations of the original modified to suit possible types of program.
Taking the universal plan of the building, a larger space was formed to continue the overall feel of the butler building, but to expand on its size providing more possibilities for different kinds of program to change the building.
